What North Salt Lake feels like

North Salt Lake has a lot of contrast. Down in the flats you'll find older, more affordable neighborhoods. Higher up are newer hillside developments (Foxboro and similar foothill communities) with valley views and larger, more modern homes. It's the first Davis County city you hit coming north from Salt Lake City, and that shapes a lot of its character and its convenience.

Commute and location

This is about as close to downtown Salt Lake as you can get while still living in Davis County. Depending on where in the city you are, it's often a 10-15 minute drive.

Schools and community

North Salt Lake is part of the Davis School District. The city has grown quite a bit over the past decade, and the hillside development has added higher-end homes alongside the older, more affordable core.

Typical price range

The median single-family sale price in North Salt Lake was $615,000 for January through September 2026 (121 sales, UtahRealEstate.com MLS). There's a pretty big gap between the older flatland neighborhoods and the newer hillside developments, which run noticeably higher.

Who this fits

I think North Salt Lake fits buyers who want the shortest commute into Salt Lake City while still living in Davis County. It's also a good fit if you want newer hillside construction with valley views without paying Farmington or Bountiful East Bench prices.

What makes it worth living in, not just close to things

Eaglewood Golf Course sits up on the hillside above the city. It's a public 18-hole course with great views over the Great Salt Lake and the Bountiful valley. The Grill there has become a destination on its own, and plenty of locals stop in for a meal without ever playing a round. For everyday dining, Our Kitchen Cafe and Thyme & Seasons Market Place both come up as neighborhood favorites. For trails, Tunnel Springs Park and the newer North Foxboro Regional Park both get you into the foothills without a long drive.

Numbers to know: North Salt Lake sits in Davis County, with a median single-family sale price of $615,000 for January through September 2026 (UtahRealEstate.com MLS). These shift with the market, so treat this as a starting orientation, not a quote. I'll pull current comps for any address or neighborhood you're considering.

If North Salt Lake looks like a fit, or you're still comparing it against other Davis and Weber County cities, I'm happy to talk through the tradeoffs that matter to you: commute, school boundaries, budget, timing, all of it.
